There he is: Halloween


It was a cloudy and fairly cold day of October. The leaves were giving one last performance of beautiful colors before falling for the Winter.

Nabi was walking on the street with Doki by his side. She was talking about so many things and she was changing subject so fast that Nabi had a little difficulty following what she was saying. He simply nodded from time to time when she was talking less.

Then, Doki stopped in front of a poster. Since she had her arm around Nabi's, he had no choice but to stop too. He then looked at the poster and started to read it: «Halloween party at the public park, Saturday, October 31st. Bring your costume and try to not be discovered.»

Nabi: "Hmm, sounds like fun. But I'm not sure what I would wear for it."

Doki: "Aww, don't worry. I'll find you something, dear."

Nabi (thinking): "Yeah, I was fearing you'd say that"

Nabi: "Ok. But please, not something too stupid or embarrasing. Like disguising as each other."

Doki (Thinking): "D'oh! Here goes my great idea!"

Doki: "Yeah, sure. Don't worry."


With that said, they both continued to walk towards Nabi's house where they were having their date. About half an hour later, the Jjinttas were walking on the same street when Sam-Ho noticed the poster.

Sam-Ho: "Hey, guys! Look!"

Il-Ho and Yi-Ho looked at it and read it for themselves. Then, just as Yi-Ho left his hand up to say something ...

Il-Ho, pointing a finger at Yi-Ho: "NO! We're not going!"

Yi-Ho: "Aww, come on, man! It'll be fun!"

Sam-Ho: "Yeah, and we won't be discovered. We'll be wearing costumes."

Il-Ho: "Pfft, costumes. That's why I hate Halloween. Everyone only thinks about partying, wearing costumes and eating candies. The real purpose of Halloween is scaring others and being ourselves scared."

The two others looked at each other. He did have a point, but they really wanted to go.

Yi-Ho: "Well ... we could disguise into something terrifying and scare the living hell out of everyone at the party. Whatcha think? Hmm?"

Il-Ho: "Now THAT's more like it!"

Sam-Ho, softly to Yi-Ho: "Alright! good job, man!"

Yi-Ho, to Sam-Ho: "Hehe, the only way to convince him is to go on his tougher, asshole-ish side."

Il-Ho, twitching an ear: "What was that?"

Yi-Ho & Sam-Ho, both stiffening: "Nothing!"



===== A few days later =====


It was evening on the 29th, two days before the party. Nabi was calmly reading a book at his house. Suddenly, he heard a loud knock on his door. He had an intuition who it was and went to open the door.

Nabi: "Hello, Doki!"

Doki: "HIII, NABI!!! I found a very nice costume for you to wear at the party!"

Nabi: "Oh, cool! What is it?

Doki: "Shht! Inside! Someone could be listening to our conversation.

Nabi: "Huh?"

Doki, giggling: "I mean, we're supposed to not be discovered."

Nabi: "Oh, that. *giggle* Ok, come in!"

Doki went inside and showed to Nabi his costume. When he saw it, he doubled over in laughter.

Doki, disappointed: "Aww, you don't like it?"

Nabi, still giggling: "No, no. That's not it! It's just ... I love the idea. It's hilarious!"

Doki, smiling: "Oh, ok, dear!"

Nabi: "Aaand ... is your costume based on the same idea?"

Doki: "Hehe, yeah!"

Nabi: "Haha, cool!"



During this time, at Yi-Ho's house, Sam-Ho and Yi-Ho were discussing about the party.

Sam-Ho: "You know ... I'm not really into doing what Il-Ho wants. About the whole scaring the others thing, I mean."

Yi-Ho: "Yeah, me neither. I still don't know why he wants to do that."

Sam-Ho: "Um ... you suggested it to him."

Yi-Ho: "Yeah, but I mean: Why did he accept? I was only saying that as a joke and he took it seriously."

Sam-Ho: "Yeah ..."

They both remained silent for a while, waiting for Il-Ho to arrive.

Sam-Ho: "What's wrong with him anyway? It's not like him to be late."

Yi-Ho: "Well, knowing him, he probably was slowed by the traffic."

Just then, the doorbell rang.

Yi-Ho: "Ah, see? that must be him."

He went to open the door, only to find Il-Ho with a face filled with ... remorse.

Yi-Ho: "Um, hi, man. You ... don't look so well."

Il-Ho: "Yeah. Well ... I thought about your suggestion and ... I'm not sure it's such a big idea."

Sam-Ho, from the living room: "That's funny. We were saying the same about it."

Il-Ho: "R-Really?"

Yi-Ho: "Yeah ... Actually, I didn't think you'd accept."

Il-Ho, facepalming himself: "Figures! I knew it was odd to hear that from you."

Yi-Ho: "Yeah ... Um, wanna come in?"

Il-Ho: "I was kinda waiting for you to offer it."

Yi-Ho: "Oh. Well, *he bowed like a butler would* come in, if you please."


Il-Ho couldn't help but laugh a little at this.

Il-Ho, entering: "You were always the funny type, huh?"

Yi-Ho: "You know me. I always liked to act funny."

Il-Ho: "heh, yeah ... Anyway, did any of you had an idea for the costumes we'll wear for the party?"

Sam-Ho: "Well, maybe it could be something that has either three parts or three components."

Yi-Ho: "Like ...?"

Sam-Ho: "Like ... well, dunno. I thought we could start with that."

Il-Ho: "How about ... something NOT like that? I dunno, it would be cool if we each wore a different costume. I mean, we already dress the same way normally."

Sam-Ho and Yi-Ho: "Good point."

Yi-Ho: "Then ... did you think of something?"

Il-Ho: "Well, maybe something a little bit more ... basic."

Yi-Ho: "Basic? Like vampire, ghost and zombie?"

Il-Ho: "Yeah, something like that."

San-Ho: "Well, I like this idea. It requires less thinking."

Yi-Ho: "And it's easier to find or make this way."

Il-Ho: "Then it's settled. Oh, one more thing: Do we tell each other how we'll be disguised as?"

Yi-Ho: "We could always keep the surprise."

Sam-Ho: "Yeah, it'd be more fun."

Il-Ho: "Alright, cool. Then ... I'll go."

The two others: "Where to?"

Il-Ho: "Well, get my costume! The party IS in two days, you know."

Yi-Ho: "You already got your idea?"

Il-Ho: "Hey! We said no telling! I ain't telling you if I got my idea or not."


And Il-Ho left in a hurry ...

Yi-Ho: "Sometimes, I don't get him."

Sam-Ho: "That makes two of us. Hey! I just remembered: Didn't he say he didn't want to disguise for Halloween, that it was for scaring other people and not partying?"

Yi-Ho: "Hey! You're right! I wonder what made him change his mind so radically."

Sam-Ho: "I think I know why ..."

Yi-Ho: "Really? What is it?"

Sam-Ho: "Isn't it obvious? *wink*"

Yi-Ho, after thinking for a couple of seconds: "OH, oh, yeah. Now I get it. And it makes sense."

Sam-Ho: "Heh. Told ya it was obvious!"






========= Party night (Oct 31st, for those who didn't follow)=========






The first ones to show up at the party were Nabi and Doki. Everyone was looking at them. Some laughed in a mean way, others laughed but loved the idea of their costumes.

Doki: "*giggle* Told you people would like it!"

Nabi: "Yeah ... I guess you're right. You know, I wonder two things: Will the Jjinttas come to the party and if yes, what will be their costumes?"

Doki: "Hmm, good question! Maybe Yi-Ho and Sam-Ho, but knowing Il-Ho, I'm not sure about him."


Soon enough, Yi-Ho and Sam-Ho showed up.

Nabi, seeing them: "Ah! Well, so far you're right about Yi-Ho and Sam-Ho!"

Doki: "Oh, cool! HEY GUYS!!"

Yi-Ho: "Oh! Here's Nabi and Doki! Hey, lovers! You doing good?"

Sam-Ho, noticing their costumes: "*laughs hard* *gasp* Man, your costumes are genius! It's so funny yet well thought of!"

Yi-Ho, who saw their costumes too: "*laughs* Yeah! I was sure you'd think of the contrary, but THAT is cool!"

Doki, blushing: "Aww, thanks, guys! It was my idea!"

Nabi: "Yeah! She actually came up with a good idea! Hey, do you know if Il-Ho will come?"

Sam-Ho: "Well, he said he'd be there ..."

Yi-Ho: " ... and he seemed to be pretty eager-ish about it!"

Nabi: "Wow! Il-Ho actually happy about something. The world is going to be destroyed!! *Fake panic*"


The others laughed and agreed with him.


Someone: "Talking about me?"


They all turned around to see Il-Ho in his costume. Their eyes doubled in size and their mouth almost touched the ground (except for Sam-Ho's because ... well, you know).

(Author's note: Ok. the next paragraphs are the costumes description. I waited for them all to be there before doing it.)

The costumes that got Nabi and Doki all this attention is: A costume of a cat for Nabi and a Rabbit costume for Doki. It was both ridiculous and original.

Yi-Ho's and Sam-Ho's costumes were kinda guess-able: Because of his eye-patch, Yi-Ho was disguised as a pirate, and because of his mouth mask, Sam-Ho was disguised as a doctor.

Last but not least: Il-Ho's. First of all, his fur was all flat and smooth (which is probably what caused the others to be so surprised). Second, he was wearing a tuxedo. Finally, he had a fake gun in his pocket.


Il-Ho: "You can call me Band ... Band-Aid!"


This obviously got everyone's laughs to come out.


Yi-Ho: "Whoa, man! This is so ... the contrary of you! *laughs*"

Doki: "Yeah, you almost look ... nice that way."

Sam-Ho: "Not to mention stylish!"

Nabi: "And handsome!"


The last comment caused Il-Ho to blush a little ... and the others to look at Nabi with a perplexed face.

With all salutations made, they went inside for the party. The music was "scary" themed and everyone seemed to enjoy it.

After a little while, and after everyone got to drink the Halloween punch (Strawberry and raspberry juice to make it looks like blood), they all talked about random stuff. Everyone was having fun, mostly the Jjinttas.



Il-Ho: "Well, I gotta go to the bathroom."

Nabi: "Yeah, me too. Maybe I drank too much punch. *laughs*"


After someting like 5 minutes ...

Yi-Ho: "What's taking them so long?"

Doki: "*gasp* I hope they didn't start to fight!"

Sam-Ho: "Nah! Il-Ho's not that kind of person anymore."

Yi-Ho: "I'll still go look for them. Maybe they got lost ... Yeah right! *laughs*"

He went for the bathroom, passed by the huge speakers, looked by them and ... he froze! His eye as big as his head and his mouth wide enough to put a 1m ruler in it.

What he saw ... he just couldn't believe it. It surpassed everything he could imagine in his life. He saw ... Il-Ho and Nabi ... kissing!! Their lips meeting each other's and all!

Yi-Ho snapped out of it and went to see the others.

Yi-Ho, thinking: "I can't let the others know ... especially not Doki! ... So that's why Il-Ho was so happy about coming to the party. He hasn't come for Doki ... but for her boyfriend."

He had millions of thoughts coming in his mind. What could he do about all this? He eventually met with the others. A couple of seconds later, Nabi and Il-Ho followed.


Sam-Ho: "THERE you are! What took you so long?"

Nabi: "Uuhhhh...."

Doki: "Yeah, Yi-Ho went to find you guys!"

Yi-Ho: "Yeah, but I didn't find them ..."

The two others stiffened.

Yi-Ho: "... they were probably already on their way back."

The two others both sighed in relief.

The case didn't cause anymore problems and they continued to party.


A couple of hours later, they decided to each go home. They walked together.


Doki: "*happy sigh* This sure was fun, right?"

All the others nodded yes.

Il-Ho: "Yup. I gotta admit, I had a great time."

Nabi: "Me too!"

Yi-Ho knew too well why they said that, but prefered to stay silent. He didn't want to cause any problems to them.

One thing's for sure, that kiss betweem Il-Ho and Nabi was just the ... beginning.
